Local cuisine, inspired by the British Isles.

Nestled in the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Portland, Raven & Rose in the historic Ladd Carriage House provides a warm and inviting escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  Our first-floor restaurant dining room offers classic and contemporary dishes, inspired by the great gastropubs of the British Isles, as well as full wine, beer and spirits menus.  Upstairs, in what was originally the hayloft, The Rookery Bar crafts some of the finest classic cocktails in town, accompanied by our take on classic pub fare.

Live Music in The Rookery Bar

Did you know?  We regularly host an array of local and visiting musicians and bands upstairs in The Rookery Bar.  Visit us on a Tuesday for live traditional Irish music, or try a Thursday or Saturday evening for a taste of folk, jazz, blues and many other genres.  Our schedule is always being updated.  Check it out!

BEHIND THE SCENES: RESEARCH

A trip to the British Isles...

In order to keep us on our culinary toes, we are always studying, always researching both the modern and historical cuisines and beverage cultures of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  This spring, we are excited to have the opportunity to visit two of those countries on a research trip.  We look forward to bringing back fresh ideas and inspiration for our menus.

A historic - literally: it's on the National Register of Historic Places - Victorian carriage house (the robber-baron kind) with cocktails to match.”  - David Wondrich, Esquire Magazine's Best Bars in America, 2014
