Lisa Mygrant - Owner, founder & total farming nerd

After working in food in London, attending Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork, Ireland, and stints cooking at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, CA and Paley's Place in Portland, OR, a fluke of great luck landed Lisa at the doorstep of the Ladd Carriage House.  She immediately fell in love with the beautiful building, so integral to Portland's rich history; and so Raven & Rose was born.

If you don't see her around the Carriage House, she's most likely at home "playing farmer," tending her flocks of chickens, ducks and geese, playing with her dogs, and working in her large and more than slightly messy garden.

David Shenaut 

 

Brings a passion for historically accurate and meticulously crafted classic cocktails, as well as highly curated beer, wine & spirits lists.

David's work focus has been on developing leadership and lasting culture for the employees of R&R. Outside of work, you can find him shooting hoops or napping with his dogs. #doghairgarnish

Derek Palmer- General Manager

Started as a dishwasher in 1992, since then has worked every front of the house position, but mostly as a bartender.   He has worked in diverse establishments in Seattle, San Francisco, and Portland. In 2005, he could be found at the venerable Carlyle, later he worked at the Alberta Street Oyster Bar and did a stint at the Brassierie Montmarte. At Raven & Rose Derek was head waiter for several years before finally accepting the GM position.

Derek enjoys gardening, traveling as a GastroTourist and fermenting things, "Yay Sauerkraut!"  His two terriers, Kenny Rogers and Lenny Kravitz are often found under foot.

Dan Mancini - Chef de Cuisine

After running a French-inspired bistro in Lafayette, Indiana, Dan headed west in 2005 to find a more inspired food culture with local sustainability at its heart. Dan has worked in various kitchens across Portland including Olea, Bluehour, A Cena, and Urban Farmer.

 

Inspired by the molecular science behind cookery, Dan strives to modernize traditional British Isles comfort food by blending classical and modern techniques.

 

Outside of Raven and Rose’s kitchen, Dan likes to spend time with his wife and friends creating epic dinners, working on projects around the house, biking and gardening. 

Jessica Howard - Pastry  Chef & Accounts payable

Jessica's and her husband, Matthew (the Executive Chef) like to cook at home with their two  awesome little boys, Jack and Jonah. you can also find them in the garden, the park, or on a drive out to Hood River for lunch.  Jessica grew up mixing and stirring and concocting things for parents.  She loved her easy bake oven and by the time she was 10 or 11 was put in charge of making the mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving.  Her parents bought her a Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas when she was 15 and she still has it!  One day her mom asked her if she wanted to go to culinary school and the rest is history.

 

 Jessica is fierce in the bakery and in the office. She works hard and is proud of it. "No matter how hard people want to believe that things have changed, it is damn hard for women in this industry to get ahead of the curve.  Especially women who are mothers.  Mic drop."
